2. Lookup plans and Company Monitor subscriptions

  • Billing. Paid plans are billed in advance for each period (monthly unless stated otherwise). Your plan is activated once payment is confirmed.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time by emailing info@mycompanylookup.com or contacting us through the contact page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed.
  • Part-used periods. We do not refund the unused part of a period, and unused lookups or monitoring capacity do not roll over.
  • Downgrades. A downgrade takes effect from the next billing period.
  • Upgrades. An upgrade takes effect once the new plan is paid; any credit for the remainder of your old plan is at our discretion.

3. Consumers: 14-day cancellation right

If you buy as a consumer (for purposes outside your trade or business), you may have a legal right to cancel a digital service within 14 days of purchase. If you ask us to start the service straight away, you agree that your right to cancel is lost once the service has been fully provided, and you may have to pay for the part already used. In practice:

  • If you cancel within 14 days and have not used the plan (no paid lookups made, or no company added to Company Monitor), we refund the full amount.
  • If you cancel within 14 days after using the plan, we may deduct an amount proportionate to what you used.

Business customers (including B2B accounts) do not have this statutory cancellation right.

4. Filing services

Filing services (for example confirmation statements, accounts, CT600 returns and company changes) involve work by our team and, often, a fee paid to a government body.

  • Before work starts: if you cancel before we begin preparing your filing, we refund the full amount, including any government fee we have not yet paid.
  • After work starts, before submission: we refund the service fee less a fair amount for work already done, and any government fee we have not yet paid.
  • After submission: once a filing has been submitted to Companies House, HMRC or another authority, the service has been provided and is not refundable.
  • Rejected filings: if an authority rejects a filing because of an error we made, we correct and resubmit it at no extra charge. If it is rejected because of incorrect or missing information you gave us, a further fee may apply.
  • Missing information: if we cannot complete a filing because you have not provided the information or documents we need within 30 days of our request, we may close the order and refund the service fee less work done.

5. Government and statutory fees

Fees paid to Companies House, HMRC or other authorities on your behalf are passed to that authority. Once paid, we cannot refund them, and refunds of those fees are a matter for the authority under its own rules. Late filing penalties are charged by Companies House or HMRC to the company and are never refundable by us.

6. Services provided by partners

Company formation, registered office, identity verification and bank account services offered through Biz E-Formations Inc. are provided under that company's own terms and refund policy. Third-party fees, such as bank charges or registry fees, are set by those third parties.

7. When we always refund

  • You were charged twice for the same service.
  • You were charged after cancelling in time.
  • We could not provide the service you paid for because of a problem on our side.

8. How to request a refund

  1. Email info@mycompanylookup.com with the subject "Refund request".
  2. Include your account email, the order or plan, the payment date and the reason.
  3. We reply within 2 business days. Approved refunds are made to the original payment method, normally within 14 days. Your bank or card provider may take longer to show it.

9. Chargebacks

Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank, so we can resolve the issue quickly. Accounts with an open chargeback may be suspended while it is investigated.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The version that applies is the one published when you made the purchase. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
